Beyond The Wedding...

Did you know we have our own site where we post about what we're up to? It's true, we do! The site has been around for a while and it's called "Pettitopia".
Pettit + Utopia = Pettitopia. Sorta clever, no? Link to the site is as follows:

On the site we post most of our family photos, talk about what's going on in our lives and various other blurbs of info we think you'd like to know. Stop on by when you have the time and say hello.

Thank You So Very Much

We're back in Los Angeles and like to take a moment to thank each of our 140+ guests who attended our wedding. We had an absolutely amazing time and could not have felt more loved. You have no idea how much your being there meant to us. We wanted to be sure to give you all the link to our photos which have been posted at the below link:

Thanks again and enjoy the photos!

Directions & Parking Details

With 11 days and counting, our apartment is a huge wedding planning tornado! Just a quick note, we have posted up an interactive Google map with directions to our wedding venue along with useful parking information:

For example, can you believe the Edgewater only has 60+ parking spots for the entire hotel? Seeing as our guests won't be the only occupants of the hotel, we figured we had better do a little homework so you don't have to hunt for parking. If the roles were reversed, you'd do the same for us, right?

Invitations, Engagement Photos and More!

Invitations Sent!
So for the past few weeks, Katie has been busting her butt getting all the invitations addressed and put together. My contribution was the cutting out of the "For more info, visit our webpage..." velum square. When Katie got home from work, I met her in the parking structure with two big Vera Wang boxes full of stuffed, addressed and stamped wedding invitations to be promptly mailed from the Valencia post office. Check your mailboxes...

Engagement Photos
We took our engagement photos on the 21st of December at Disneyland in Anahiem... and finally put a few up on the website for you to enjoy: HERE is the link. Over 250 were taken and here are the 32 we liked the best.

Website Update
I added a neat little feature... random images in the banner. So you see the top of the page... where it says "Josh and Katie's Wedding" and there's a photo of us to the right? Well, if you change pages, the photo changes to a random image of us. Kinda need, huh? Well, we think so at least.

Engagement Photos @ Disneyland

We just got home from the engagement photos at the park... actually had alot of fun. The locations we focused on:

- CALIFORNIA sign outside of DCA
- Our Stone
- Random Main Street side streets (Marceline Hotel mostly)
- Snow White's Wishing Well & Walkway to Fantasyland
- Carnation Plaza Gardens Stage
- Rancho de Zalco entrance/path
- Marshy area next to Big Thunder Mnt exit.
- Haunted Mansion Fast Pass area

Overall, plenty of great photos at amazing locations. Getting into the park with standard DSLR gear is a whole different story:

Cast member "Patty" followed us in the area between DLR and DCA. She told us we needed permission to shoot inside the park and that we couldn't take our "gear" in the park as Disney is worried about "inappropriate" photos being taken. She warned us that by shooting in the park with said gear, we run the risk of being escorted out by security.

Now, we have taken our DSLR gear in the park MANY times without issue from any member of the staff.. why was today any different? We told her what was going on and she informed security, came back to us and said as long as we keep the telephoto lenses hidden and removed the flash cloud, we could shoot discreetly in the park. We eventually entered the park without any further issue, but this just felt like power trip. We joked about Disney snipers in the windows and plain-clothed security personnel stalking us. :)

We shot at all the above locations and the cast members were nothing but nice and helpful in each location. Many offering congratulations on the engagement. Overall, an amazing day despite the speed bump known as "Patty". We'll be sure to post a few photos once they are available.

Pre-Wedding Reception and Registry
Published on March 30, 2008 at 14:44 by Josh

Hey everyone,

As you can see, the wedding website has launched and data is being populated slowly but surely. The latest update is that we are planning a pre-wedding reception for all our friends and family who cannot make it to the main wedding in the Seattle area. So far, we plan to have it at our apartment's club house around mid-May and will be sure to keep everyone informed as progress is made on the date/location.

Today, we registered at Crate & Barrel... which needless to say was a pretty fun experience. Feel free to get the whole list.. we won't mind ;). We plan on hitting a few more stores in the upcoming days/weeks so don't jump the gun just yet. More to come...
